Dog Walking Policy

We aim to provide your dog with a happy, calm, and safe walk; while providing reinforcement for good behaviors and reshaping unwanted behaviors through personalized training and management techniques.

Payment

All payments must be submitted prior to your appointment. If a payment has failed, we reserve the right to terminate the walk.

Access to house

We require a simple and efficient way to enter the home. If we can not enter your home safely within fifteen minutes of our arrival, we will not complete the appointment and will charge the appointment.

Holidays

TheTreat Training does not offer regular dog walking services on the following days:

2025 Holidays:

5/24, 5/25, 5/26, 4/3, 4/4, 4/5, 4/6, 8/30, 8/31, 9/1, 11/27, 11/28, 11/29, 11/30, 12/24, 12/25, 12/26, 12/31

We offer Holiday Dog Walking on those days at a different price.

Cancellations

We understand the need to cancel or take a vacation day from our visits. Please give as much notice in advance, with a minimum of the day prior by 10AM. Walks will be billed for services canceled after this time.

Excessive cancellations may lead to loss of your scheduled time frames as our walkers have set aside this time especially for your pets.

Vaccinations

TheTreat Training requires all pets to be up to date on rabies vaccinations and licensed with the town of residence. We do not require your dog to receive all vaccinations, however, we require your dog to be healthy at the time of your appointment. If your dog is ill with a contagious disease, we will cancel your appointment until your dog is evaluated as healthy according to a licensed veterinarian.

Pet Behavior

If your dog displays aggressive behavior towards a dog walker, you will be notified within 24 hours of the incident. After three infractions, we will no longer provide dog walking services, terminate any future bookings, and cancel any financial agreements.

Our dog walkers are trained to handle minor behavioral problems; in order to ensure safety to all dog walkers, we retain the right to terminate services if the dog's behavior is a risk to their safety.

Inclement Weather

We walk in all kinds of weather, rain, snow, and sleet! We want to ensure that your dog and our walkers are as safe as possible when inclement weather is severe. If school is cancelled in the dog’s town of residence, walks will automatically be cancelled and refunded or rescheduled. You are required to make a safe clearing for our dog walkers to park and walk your dog.
